Vietnamese National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn has embarked on an official visit to China to enhance ties and boost parliamentary cooperation between the two nations. Departing from Hanoi on Sunday, Mẫn’s visit underscores a commitment to strengthening political engagement and institutional collaboration as part of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.

During his time in China, Mẫn will co-chair the second session of the cooperation committee between Vietnam’s National Assembly and China’s National People’s Congress. This visit, initiated by an invitation from Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, is Mẫn’s first to China in his role as Vietnam’s top legislator.

The discussions between the legislative bodies are anticipated to focus on enhancing coordination and aligning with Vietnam’s foreign policy priorities. The visit aims to cement parliamentary cooperation as a critical element of the broader strategic partnership, reflecting a mutual effort to deepen the long-term bilateral relationship.

This visit highlights both countries’ dedication to fostering a robust partnership, with a particular emphasis on political and legislative collaboration. By reinforcing these ties, Vietnam and China aim to advance their shared interests and strengthen their positions on the international stage.
