Qatar, Vietnam Explore Enhancing Tech and Innovation Trade Initiatives

In a recent meeting at Qatar Chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, First Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari engaged in discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep. The focus was on bolstering economic and trade ties between Qatar and Vietnam, highlighting potential avenues for increased collaboration between the two nations.

Central to the dialogue was the aim to enhance cooperation among private sector companies in both countries. The parties explored new investment opportunities and identified key sectors ripe for future collaboration. Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint investment projects, commending Vietnam’s impressive economic growth.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep underscored Vietnam’s intent to deepen economic cooperation with Qatar, pointing out that bilateral trade surpassed $860 million in 2024, which represents an increase of $100 million from the previous year. He encouraged Qatari investors to seize opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and halal products. The ambassador also highlighted the significant role of Qatar Chamber in facilitating the entry of Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods into the Qatari market.

Additionally, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September. This annual exhibition is a prominent global trade event that emphasizes sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation, drawing international companies and industry leaders from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
