In a significant diplomatic engagement held at the Shangri-La Mactan hotel in Cebu, Philippines, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand participated in trilateral discussions with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The talks, which commenced at 6pm local time, were focused on addressing the situation between Thailand and Cambodia, a move spearheaded by the Philippines in its role as the ASEAN chair.
Rachada Dhanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, highlighted the initiative by the Philippines to facilitate this meeting, emphasizing its importance in the regional context. Following the discussions, the leaders addressed the media in a press conference, with remarks led by President Marcos as the head of ASEAN, followed by comments from Prime Minister Hun Manet and then Prime Minister Anutin.
Prime Minister Anutin expressed gratitude towards President Marcos for orchestrating the crucial meeting, underscoring its significance.
