Vietnamese President To Lam has embarked on a significant four-day state visit to Singapore, commencing on May 28. The visit is poised to bolster bilateral cooperation and advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership the two nations are set to establish in 2025.

During his stay, President Lam is expected to engage in discussions with Singaporean leaders, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. These talks are anticipated to center around enhancing economic relations, fostering investment, and promoting technology collaboration, alongside exploring avenues for regional cooperation.

A notable event during President Lam’s visit will be his keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue. This marks his first major international speech focusing on Vietnam’s foreign policy since he assumed the presidency in April 2026.

The two countries are actively expanding their collaboration in the realms of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation through the Vietnam-Singapore Tech Connect Initiative. Moreover, they are working on the next evolution of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP 2.0). This new phase will prioritize smart technologies, sustainability, and green development to lure high-value investments.

This visit underscores the strengthening strategic and economic partnership between Singapore and Vietnam. Both nations are keen on deepening their collaboration across multiple sectors, highlighting their shared commitment to fostering a robust bilateral relationship.
